Local Products Showcase at the Iloilo OTOP Fair 2010

In line with the continuous effort to promote and develop small and medium enterprises in the province, the Department of Trade and Industry-Iloilo Provincial Office (DTI-Iloilo PO) in cooperation with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development (SMED) Foundation, Inc., and the Business Counselors League of Iloilo (BCLI), once again implements the Iloilo OTOP SME Fair 2010 as one of the highlights in the celebration of the SME Week.

Now on its fifth year, the fair will run on 12-18 July 2010 at the Activity Center of SM City-Iloilo. A total of 35 exhibitors will join the fair including guest- exhibitors from Aklan, Antique and Guimaras.  SMEs from these provinces manifest their unity with SMEs in Iloilo and look up to the province as the major market of their products in…

DOLE reports 8 wage petitions

DOLE reports 8 wage petitions still being heard

Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda D. Baldoz yesterday reported that there are still eight wage petitions pending with other Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPBs) nationwide.

“There are at least eight petitions pending. The petitions range from P50 to P128.60 across-the-board daily wage increase, and RTWPBs concerned are currently holding a series of sectoral consultations and public hearings on said petitions,” Baldoz, in a news release, said.

The DOLE chief said the RTWPBs of Region 7 and CARAGA Region are in the advanced stages of consultations and deliberations and are expected to issue their wage orders soon.

Earlier, the RTWPB in the National Capital Region had issued Wage Order No. 15 granting a P22.00 daily wage hike to all NCR minimum wage earners in the private sector.

Tech-voc graduates get jobs fast – TESDA

Graduates of technical vocational courses have higher chances of getting employed and with a shorter job search period.  Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Director General Pastor Z. Guiao said this yesterday after he bared the results of an impact evaluation study which shows that TESDA graduates easily find jobs and in a shorter time at that.

“The skills that graduates of tech-voc courses learned are very much in demand and are attuned to the needs of companies. The courses they have chosen were based on their occupational interest and aptitude. That is why they do not have difficulty looking for jobs,” Guiao said

iPod Touch with IOS4

IOS 4 has been released along with the iPhone 4 but unfortunately the new OS is not available for all iPhone versions. Lately while browsing the internet I saw from apple that the iOS 4 Software Update works with the second- and third-generation iPod touch but no all features are compatible with all devices. I own an iPhone 2g will this be available for us? Although there are a bunch of hacks to make it work but an official update for the 2g would be great right.

Kapitbahay Ko, Responsibilidad Ko

DOLE LAUNCHES “Kapitbahay Ko, Responsibilidad Ko” project

The Department of Labor and Employment has  signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with its partners from the Social Security System (SSS) to  lend a hand to the street families who are living in the fringes and the surrounding areas of DOLE Intramuros through the “Kapitbahay Ko, Responsibilidad Ko” project.
Secretary Marianito D. Roque said “Kapitbahay Ko, Responsibilidad Ko”, a corporate social responsibility project of DOLE, will also assist Baranggay 657 with livelihood trainings to adult beneficiaries and a  three month feeding program to children ages six months to 6 years old.
The CSR project will have two (2) phases and will be conducted in coordination with the DOLE Regional Office-NCR, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC)  and the Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns (BWSC). The

iPhone 4 Screenshots running on Globe sim

Yesterday i was asked to prove that the iPhone 4 are existing in the Philippines and that they could run on Globe Sim Card. Gladly i obtain photos of the iPhone 4 not just one but 2 that were bought in UK.
