Filipinos working in Syria will now be able to send their cash home after listed remittance firm I-Remit Inc. announced that its reach now covers the Southwest Asian country.
Its partnership with the Damascus-based Al Alamiah Group Co. will allow I-Remit, the largest non-bank Filipino-owned remittance company, to serve 17,000 workers in Syria.
In addition to the expansion of remittance corridors, iRemit also established strategic price points that offer affordable services to money senders that “will will make remittances much more accessible to a larger addressable market,” said Harris Jacildo, iRemit president and COO in a statement.
The partnerships will serve to further accelerate the availability of money transfer and other financial services to a wider section of the global Filipino community and its affiliates.
The Al Alamiah group Co. is engaged in a diversified line of business that includes money remittance and foreign exchange trading. I-Remit is its first remittance partner in the Philippines.
