Nego-Kart Project Launched Nationwide
A total of 596 nego-karts for ambulant vendors were initially distributed nationwide during the launching of the project in all regional offices of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
The Negosyo sa Kariton (Nego-Kart) project is one of the DOLE’s Priority Projects for 2009-2010 which is intended to provide decent livelihood mainly for the benefit of marginal workers in the country’s informal sector, specifically the ambulant workers in m ajor cities of the country.
Undersecretary Arturo L. Sodusta who heads the special project said, “ through the project, we intend that the income level of the ambulant vendors would at least be at par with that of minimum wage earners.”
