As we all know iPhone has a new OS 3.0 and iPhone 3G S has been released for all iPhone and iPhone Dev has released several applications for you to activate and jailbreak you iPhone.
If you are a mac user try using quickpwn and redsn0w for windows. You can download all files required here
for those who have the newer version of iphone you can use ultrasn0w you can get it here
Ultrasn0w for iPhone 3G is ready!
- Ensure you have upgraded to iPhone OS 3.0
- Jailbreak your iPhone 3G using redsn0w or PwnageTool (this will also install Cydia/Icy)
- Run Cydia or Icy
- Please add the repo repo666.ultrasn0w.com to Cydia or Icy. That last “o” is actually the number zero “0”! If you use the letter “o” you’ll get an error.
- Search for ‘ultrasn0w’ in cydia or icy and install ultrasn0w
- Reboot your iPhone 3G
- T-Mobile USA users should disable 3G before using ultrasn0w
You can check out the detailed tutorial here
Some problems that we encounter are the “waiting for reboot” bug on the redsn0w .7.1 but dont worry it was already patched and the current version is the .7.2 which will work.
if you have problems and you wish to downgrade from firmware 3.0 to 2.2.1 or lower you might encounter a problem like the 1600 1601 and so on which will forbid you from downgrading however there is a method yo downgrade and minimize the error.
You will need ..
1-QuickPwnRC3 download from here ( iphone-hacks.com/downloads/file/138)
2-2G Ipsw 2.0.2
These steps is to put the iPhone in a mode to allow iTunes to restore to lowers ipsw, if you do DFU the normal way iTunes will give all possibele errors such as 1600, 1601, 20 etc.
Now follow my steps..
A-Open QuickpwnRC3 and follw the steps and select 2.0.2 IPSW and when the screen turn to White color , unplug the USB ( Screen will remians White color).
D-iTunes will discover iphone in Recover mode.
E-Shift+Restore to 2.2.1
Itunes continues the restore process without any error
this process works as long as you followed the instructions.
Happy jailbreaking you can go to to the official site of the iPhone Dev Team to get more and check out the news on jailbreaking you iPhone.
